SCOBA 99 delegation after the "Oct. 1" celebration parade, Beijing, October 1, 1099

Sponsored by the "Chun-Hui Program" of PRC Ministry of Education, an delegation of Silicon Valley Chinese Overseas Business Association (SCOBA) visited P. R. China from May 16 to June 2, 1998. The OCBA consisted of 15 Chinese professionals, all with Ph.D. degrees, from the Silicon Valley and the Pacific Northwest area. With great success, we discussed technology and business with local officials and business community in Liaoning Province (including Shengyang, Dalian, Dandong and etc.), Shanghai, Suzhou of Jiansu Province, Beijing, Tianjin, Hainan Province, Chengdu of Sichuan province, and other places.

In 1998, OCBA members also visited other China cities, including Changde city and nearby Zhangjiaje National Forest Park in Hunan Province, Hangzhou in Zhejian Province, and so on.

The 1998 deletation includes experts in many computer-information areas, most of which are Chinese research scientists,managers, directors and corporate executives at US companies. The technical areas cover EDA software, E-commerce, network security, multimedia, cellular phone and GPS chipset design, IC design, innovative light sources, analytical chemstry and instruments, CVD (chemical vapor deposition), fax modem chip design, computer software, artificial intelligence, data bases, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutics, medical equipment and therapeutical devices, new materials and modecular sift(filter), and environment protection products and techniques.  This web site is dedicated to the activities of the OCBA, in the hope that more people will join the business activities of OCBA in the coming years.

In September - October, 1999, 25 OCBA members visited Beijing and Liaoning.
