MOE Project 211 Delegation to Canada/USA |
President Gengdong Chen of
DUT will lead a delegation organized by Chinese Ministry of Education to
visit Canada and USA. The purpose of the visit is to implement the national "Project
211" (improve 100 Universities in the coming 21st century). They seek for collaboration
at both government and university levels.
Project Collaboration Areas:
1) Key discipline development, strategic planning, evaluation and management
2) Public service system within universities and high education system, includes digital
library, campus network, nationwide literature service system
3) Infrastructure construction of University campus
About National "Project 211":
The 211 project initiated in 1996, and is considered very successful and will be
continue in the next five years (2001-2005).
In addition to the above mission, we are interested in looking for proper people who is
willing to be teacher in Dalian University of Technology or other University in China.

The visit schedule is arranged by the education sector of Chinese Embassy or Consulate in
Canada and USA. So far, we have no information about which hotel we will stay. But in
general, the people in PRC Embassy or Consulate will know the detailed arrangement.
